Evaluation of gender mainstreaming in AFD projects (2014-2018)

The Crosscutting Intervention Framework on Gender and the Reduction of Gender Inequalities 2014-2017 (Gender CIF) was adopted by the AFD Board of Directors in March 2014. With this strategic document, AFD highlights the need to better understand and take into account gender-based relations in the countries where the Agency is active. Like the World Bank or the OECD, AFD sees gender equality as a powerful factor of sustainable development and growth, as well as an important tool in the fight against poverty.
