Evaluation Summary - Sustainable Energy Efficiency Development in Palestine – SPEED project

In Palestine, in the Energy sector, the Sustainable Energy Efficiency Development (SPEED) Program has been evaluated in September 2019.

This SPEED program (2013-2018) aimed at supporting the main operational activities of the Energy Efficiency Unit (EEU) within the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority (PENRA). The most illustrative features of the project is the operational implementation of a Revolving Fund in Energy Efficiency for the public buildings. In addition, AFD and FFEM supported daily activities of the EEU to promote Energy management.

The SPEED program could be optimized through the implementation of a range of recommendations regarding the Revolving Fund, its governance, the EEU skills, the potential market and the awareness campaign.
