Farmers’ Organizations

The transition of agricultural and food systems is a major challenge on the global sustainable development agenda. After notable improvements in the early 2000s, malnutrition has remained at a high level since 2021. The issues behind the three Rio conventions on Climate, Biodiversity and Desertification are increasing the vulnerability of family farming.

It’s against this backdrop that AFD emphasizes the importance of supporting Farmers’ Organizations (FOs) that bring them together and contribute to a resilient and just transition of agricultural and food systems.
