Professional experience

Bokar Chérif has been AFD’s Chief Financial Officer since March 2022. The Financial Department has several key missions: AFD Group’s strategic financial management; access to financial markets; cash flow management; management of public funds, loans and grants; Group accounting; production of regulatory statements.

Bokar Chérif previously spent ten years managing the teams responsible for AFD Group’s capital market activity and cash flow.

He began his career in 1998 in Dublin in the asset management sector. In 2000, he joined the Financial Department of Crédit d'Équipements des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises (CEPME), which subsequently became Oséo Financement, then BPI Financement. He spent eight years there, including four in the trading room, before joining AFD in December 2008.

Bokar Chérif is a Board Member of the Group’s two main subsidiaries and of a guarantee fund for emerging currency transactions based in Amsterdam. He graduated from OMNES Éducation and holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Financial Strategic Analysis from the Cnam.
