Suriname: for a future sustainable green

Suriname, which borders French Guiana in South America, is the most forested country in the world. However, it faces economic, environmental and social challenges. Aware of these challenges, France, through the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), is participating in the sustainable development of the region by cooperating with the State of Suriname. AFD, is active in 4 main sectors: health, drinking water, biodiversity and waste management, with the aim of improving living conditions for populations while preserving the region's exceptional environment.
