The call for research papers
The call for research papers is part of the international conference titled “Bridging Divides: Evidence-based Policies for Inequality Reduction and Sustainable Development”, organised by the EU-AFD Research Facility on Inequalities on 7-8 October 2025, in Paris.
The conference will highlight research conducted by the EU-funded Research Facility on Inequalities, as well as studies selected through the current Call for Papers, which will remain open from 9 April to 31 May 2025.
The conference seeks to address the following central question: How can we ensure that social and environmental objectives are realistically reconciled in a just transition and how do we fund it?
To this end, the conference will:
- Explore fiscal and social protection strategies that promote inclusive green transitions;
- Examine effective policy approaches that address inequalities while fostering economic growth and decent work;
- Generate actionable recommendations for policymakers to ensure equitable resource access and economic justice.
We welcome submissions of reasonably completed research papers on topics related to policies aimed at inequality reduction and sustainable development, including, but not limited to:
- Social and fiscal policies for inequality reduction in the context of green transitions;
- Sustainable energy transitions and environmental policies through an inequality-reduction lens;
- Equitable investment strategies and value-sharing mechanisms in sustainable development;
- Innovative tools to address inequality;
- Tackling climate change and its implications for intergenerational inequality.
Submissions from researchers based in Global South and EU neighborhood countries are strongly encouraged.
Papers must be submitted in English and presentations at the conference will also be in English (no interpretation services will be provided).
Limited travel support for PhD students and post-doctoral researchers from Global South countries will be available. If you wish to apply for travel support, please include your CV to your paper submission.
- Submission open: 09/04/2025
