#Sport4SD
Launched by French President Emmanuel Macron and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, the ‘Sport for Sustainable Development - Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together for a Better Future’ Summit will take place on 25 July at the Carrousel du Louvre in central Paris.
The Summit will bring together more than 500 participants: heads of state and government, leaders of international organizations, athletes and representatives of the sports movement (French and International Federations, Olympic Movement, civil society organizations and entrepreneurs), and actors in the field of sports and development financing.
The goal of this gathering is to mobilize around the conviction that sport is an accelerator of sustainable development for future generations. It aims to set sports activities on a new trajectory, ensuring that they are focused on legacy, impact, and sustainability.
Not only will sports be increasingly aligned with social impacts in areas of health, nutrition, education, inclusion and equality. They will also play a role in matters of solidarity, sustainable investment, and environmental awareness, particularly in sports infrastructure and the drive to decarbonize major sporting events.
On the occasion of the Sport for Sustainable Development Summit, governments, international organizations, sport movement, civil society and private and financial actors are invited to support the Paris Agreement for Sport and Sustainable Development, composed of 10 commitments.
