Located in a semi-arid zone in Niger, the oasis basins of Gouré are threatened by dessertification. And yet, these tiny islands of crops are essential to the life of local residents. In response to this threat, the Pasam Household Food Security Support Project is initiating a series of agroecological solutions, such as plant cover, hedges, crop combinations and improved irrigation. This project, implemented by the NGO Karkara and financed by AFD Group, is part of the Great Green Wall, a vast initiative for ecological restoration and part of the fight against food insecurity in the Sahel.
