AdaptAction: supporting climate change adaptation strategies

AdaptAction assists countries particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change with the implementation of their adaptation strategies. This AFD Group program offers technical assistance and capacity building activities.
Objectives
- Strengthen the resilience of communities and ecosystems
- Strengthen capabilities to define and operationalize resilient and inclusive development pathways
- Mainstream climate change adaptation into governance and public policies, and catalyze structural adaptation projects

In the 19 partner countries of the program, you represent:
- A Ministry of the Environment
- A sectoral ministry
- A Ministry of Planning/Economy/Budget
- An institution responsible for climate governance
- A local authority

Strategic focuses of the program (phase 2: 2022-2025)
1/ Understand: Operational research on the human dimensions of climate change to translate climate science into public policies and investments.
2/ Plan: Integration of adaptation into governance arrangements and public policies.
3/ Invest: Vulnerability and feasibility studies for projects, in particular on the links between climate, biodiversity and societal issues.
