Albania: reducing inequalities between women and men regarding economic opportunities

This video was produced as part of a public policy loan provided by the AFD’s Western Balkans agency, in collaboration with the Global Bank. Thanks to this technical assistance program, AFD contributes to women’s access to economic opportunities in Albania, and it works for a more inclusive growth. Thus, this project also contributes to the achievement of social criteria that are necessary to integrate the European Union. It is established on three dimensions. Firstly, it aims at promoting the recognition of women’s acquired rights to real estate and land ownership. Secondly, women’s access to the job market is particularly encouraged through the development of gender sensitive employment policies. Finally, the project targets the reinforcement of the institutional sector, in order to promote public policies that take women’s needs into account. This is notably achieved through a gender-responsive budget results’ monitoring.
