Empowering Civil Society Organizations : the localisation of AID in Lebanon

The Shabake program mobilizes 9.4 million euros to strengthen the capacities of 13 local CSOs (civil society organizations) in the implementation of their field activities. Co-financed by the Agence Française de Développement and the Danish cooperation DANIDA, the Shabake program is implemented by Expertise France. This project is part of the aid localization strategy aiming to provide a better and targeted support to local CSOs, which are a key player in the response to the multiple crises hitting Lebanon. The Shabake program supported Lebanese civil society partners in their rapid mobilization in the aftermath of the Beirut port explosion in the affected neighborhoods.
