Kenya: 100 km of roads to transform residents’ lives
Published on
The ASAL Roads Rehabilitation Project is improving connectivity and safety across Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands.
Co-financed by the Government of Kenya, the EU, and the AFD, the project supports the rehabilitation of rural roads in six counties — Samburu, Isiolo, Laikipia, Marsabit, Meru, and Tharaka-Nithi.
By promoting labor-based construction methods, the project boosts local employment and is aimed to improve access to essential services such as schools, markets, and healthcare facilities.
It also emphasizes gender inclusion, offering training and work opportunities to thousands of women.
The improved roads are expected to enhance trade, mobility, and security in Kenya's ASAL regions.
English subtitles are available in the video's settings.
