The Covid-19 crisis has had a major effect on the education sector and jeopardizes the advances made in school enrollment, especially of girls, as well as skills development for young people entering the labor force. This is why education requires massive global investment now more than ever.

Lifelong learning and skills acquisition (SDG 4) and access to employment (SDG 8) are the cornerstones of more just and more sustainable economic and social development. AFD operates across the entire educational spectrum: primary and secondary education, higher education, vocational training, integration into the labor market and entrepreneurship.
