Protecting biodiversity is central to all of AFD Group’s actions and is a major priority, as is the fight against climate change. To halt its decline and protect ecosystems, AFD supports the restoration and sustainable management of natural areas.

In 2023, AFD Group committed €1.1 billion in financing committed by the AFD Group in developing countries and Overseas French Territories, accounting for 9.4% of the Group’s total commitments in developing countries and French overseas territories, representing 6.5% of the Group’s total commitments.
