Every four years, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Conservation Congress brings together nature conservation experts to determine priorities and actions for sustainable development and nature protection on a global scale.
AFD Group, a partner of the event, will join the 2025 edition in Abu Dhabi from October 9 to 15 to highlight its key messages and contribute to international efforts to preserve biodiversity.
What is the IUCN World Conservation Congress ?
The IUCN World Conservation Congress will bring together representatives from more than 140 countries committed to sustainable nature conservation to exchange knowledge, initiatives, and solutions. The congress will serve as a key forum for dialogue, listening, and decision-making, and will help shape a collective action plan for biodiversity for the years ahead.
If you wish to follow the event online or attend in person, registration is available here. Please note that participation fees apply.
What are AFD Group's commitments to nature and biodiversity?
AFD Group aims to become the first public development bank to be fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, it is committed to integrating biodiversity across all its activities and dedicating part of its nature finance to ecosystem conservation and restoration projects. Through this comprehensive approach, AFD Group seeks to contribute to the global objective of halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030 and restoring ecosystems to a healthy state by 2050.
