Any person or group of persons experiencing the environmental or social consequences of a project financed by AFD can file a complaint via our E & S Complaints Mechanism.

For any complaint related to the negative environmental or social effects of a project supported by AFD, please use the form available on the link below. Please consult the dedicated page on the AFD website before making your complaint.

Your application will be reviewed by a Complaints office that acts independently of the AFD Operations Division. It is supervised by the AFD Ethics Advisor. Independent experts will be able to get involved at different stages of the processing of your complaint, as detailed in the rules of procedure.

When contacting the AFD Group Investigations Function, please be as specific as possible and answer the following questions:

  • What type of conduct are you reporting, and in what way is it a prohibited practice?
  • Do the facts reported concern a project financed by one of AFD Group's components?
  • If so, which one? Where and when did the events occur (date and time if possible;  in what country, city, and location)?
  • Who is the alleged perpetrator? How did the individual or business/organization commit the alleged infraction or prohibited act?

Processing of collected data
 

Any information collected about you is the responsibility of AFD and is processed for the purpose of managing your request via the site's contact form. You can, in accordance with the conditions set down by the applicable regulations, access your data or request that it be erased. You also have the right to object, the right to rectify, and the right to restrict the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability.

To exercise these rights, or for any questions about the processing of your data, you can contact AFD Group's Data Protection Officer (DPO) by e-mail: informatique.libertes@afd.fr. If you feel that your rights are still not being respected after having received a response from the DPO, you may file a complaint with the CNIL (the French Data Protection Authority).
