AFD Group and Europe in Eurasia

In a region stretching from the borders of the European Union to the heart of Asia, AFD Group contributes to the fight against climate change and works towards fairer and more inclusive transitions. Cooperation of AFD Group with the European Union in the region is essential, and its action promotes alignment with European social, technical and environmental practices and standards, in a region sometimes torn between competing development models.

In Eurasia, several States are engaged in a process of European alignment, being either eligible for the funds of the instrument of pre-accession assistance or associated with European programs of strengthened partnership. AFD finances many investment projects associated with European grants, support programs for the reform of legislative frameworks in support of the process of alignment with the EU and manages delegations of funds under European facilities.
