Education, lifelong training and access to employment are the cornerstones of more sustainable economic and social development.

Despite the progress achieved in enrolling children in school, there remain concerns about equity, the quality of training and education systems, as well as over access to decent employment.

In 2019, France renewed its commitment to provide substantial support to the education, training and employment policies of its partners, and set ambitious objectives.

For AFD Group, 2019 was an exceptional year: the growth in the amount of assistance and political support allowed it to multiply its financing in the education-training-employment sector by 2.5 over 2018 to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
